Sturdy Lemon is an Indie Alt-Rock band originally formed in 2017 from a small town in beautiful British Columbia, Canada. In April of 2024, they played their final show at the Malaspina Theatre as part of a charity performance. Now, in 2026, Sturdy Lemon is reunited after more than two years, playing their comeback show April 25th at The Globe Live Studio. Bringing new melodies, fresh beats, and a zesty passion for music, Sturdy Lemon is ready to melt faces yet again.
In 2019, Sturdy Lemon released their self-titled album: a 90s Punk-inspired LP, and the only album released by their original line-up. It featured Justin MacFadden (Vocals & Rhythm), Reghan Geddes (Vocals & Lead), Avery Burns (Vocals & Keys), Jarod Gagnon (Bass), and Liam Welsh (Drums). These five young, passionate musicians brought nothing but energy to Vancouver Island for more than three years.
Sturdy Lemon’s lineup has since shifted a couple of times, featuring the wonderful Josephine Tinney in 2021.
In 2022, Sturdy Lemon founding members Justin MacFadden and Liam Welsh recruited the talents of Lead Guitarist Sydney McGillawee and Bassist Jayden Iversen. Since then, they have been exploring heavier guitar tones, deeper subject matter, and a psychedelic production style in preparation for their upcoming sophomore LP. The current lineup has so far released three new singles (Mary, Mine, and Money Tree) and can’t wait to bring you more!
Since the band’s conception, Sturdy Lemon has played alongside a number of other great bands, such as Wet Future, Insulam, Hawking, Danger Box, Vogue Villains, Worrywart, and many more.
Stay tuned for more updates on upcoming music and show dates!
